Plant area of methal equipment

The process uses methanol as raw material and selectively oxidize it to form methal. Because the process directly uses methanol as raw material, the process of methanol oxidation to formaldehyde is omitted, which greatly saves equipment investment. However, due to the production of acetic acid by some by-products in the selective oxidation of methanol, acid resistant equipment must be used, thus increasing the investment in the equipment.

This process has a high requirement for the catalyst, because some crystalline catalysts will catalyze the side reaction of organic acids. Once the organic acids are produced, the investment of the equipment will be increased, which is unfavorable to the industrialization of the building area of the acetal equipment.
